Pumpkin Picking

On a beautiful fall day, we went to Homestead Farms to pick our pumpkins right out of the field.  While we were there, we picked some delicious apples too.

N-A-V-Y, Go Navy! Fight!

One of our favorite parts of the fall is Navy football games.  We had a great time at this year's Navy/Air Force game.  The kids especially loved the naval destroyer hats and giant foam fingers that they got from a few generous midshipmen.

Beach Week 2013

Summer isn't summer without a trip to the beach.  We spent our traditional beach week with family and friends enjoying the sun and sand (and funnel cake, of course).  This year we upped the ante with glowsticks, hair chalk, hermit crabs, a trip to the track and an aquatic birthday message for Poopsie.

What a bunch of characters!

While the ship was at sea, we saw many, many of our favorite Disney characters.  Here's a small sampling.

Ketchikan -- Salmon Capital of the World

Ketchikan is the wettest city in America with over 12 feet of rain each year!  We happened to be there on a dry day.  The salmon were running, and we had the chance to watch them swimming upstream, leaping over boulders and using the salmon ladder.  We also got to eat some fantastic sushi in Ketchikan!  While in port we went to a lumberjack show.  The lumberjacks threw axes, climbed polls, had log-rolling contests and the like.  Very entertaining.
