Skagway and the Yukon Gold Rush

The first place we put our feet on the ground in Alaska was Skagway.  A former jumping-off point for Yukon Gold Rush prospectors, Skagway takes you back in time.  We rode the White Pass railroad up into the mountains over wooden bridges and through tunnels.  We also found plenty of totem poles in town.  Before getting back on board, we stopped for straight-from-Alaskan-waters halibut fish and chips.
